Scott Schuman, The Sartorialist, has lent us his incredible eye as curator-in-residence for Echo 100. In addition to Scott helping to assemble an incredible array of creators, he is also photographing a number of the creators with their scarves.

In my third book I printed a photo from a fashion show upside-down and challenged the reader not to think about the designer name or the model or even the exact items but to just consider the play of colors, patterns and shapes.
I used this same kind of inspiration for my scarf design for Echo.
I wanted to use my photos in a more abstract and almost impressionistic way. I softened the focus on the images so it was obvious that it was people, but the overall images were reduced to blobs of color and soft shapes. I chose images that had one or two strong color elements, and when they are spread out across the scarf, they read as a wonderful field of color! (and, yes, some images are printed upside-down)
The result is a scarf that can work with so many different types of looks and just as easily for a woman or a man. It’s chic artfully draped over a shoulder but even better when it’s worn with a certain nonchalance. ”
