Rufai Zakari Jabre is a Ghanaian artist based in Accra and Bawku. He became acquainted with recycled materials at a young age while growing up in Bawku, a town in northern Ghana. Rufai uses his artistic works to champion issues of sustainability in an era marked by requests to reduce carbon footprints and mitigate climate change. With his focus on addressing local and global environmental concerns, Rufai uses recycled plastics and synthetic materials to create his works. His works, in all their vibrant colours, are intended to illuminate the topics he’s always wanted to discuss—industrialization, consumerism, pollution, and climate change.

About Little Angel

In 2011, the association Little Angel was founded to support a children's home and a primary school in Mombasa, Kenya (Likoni/Mtongwe). The home currently accommodates 12 children, as the older ones are now in boarding schools.

The primary school serves 160 children from the nearby village. More than 30 young adults have transitioned from the home to boarding schools (secondary schools or polytechnics). In addition to the children's home, since July 2020, Little Angel has been providing support to single mothers in the nearby village. They established a new self-help group called "Likoni Women Hope & Eco." The aim of this group is to generate a regular income to break the cycle of poverty. Additionally, the women from the group organize beach clean-up events, promote recycling to protect the environment and conducts educational outreach to prevent teenage pregnancies.
