Richard Haines is a father, artist, Brooklynite and flaneur!
As a proud Queer parent of a Trans Nonbinary young adult, he has witnessed the brave choices they have made to become fully realized. He believes that every person deserves the right to have those choices. He finds the assaults on the rights of Transgender people chilling and undemocratic.
About the Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund
Since 2003, the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund (TLDEF) has worked to advance justice and equity for transgender and non-binary people in the United States, particularly the most marginalized among us, including Black and Brown transgender women, transgender and non-binary youth, trans people living below the poverty line, and the intersections found among these populations. Throughout its history, TLDEF has achieved groundbreaking wins by selecting client cases that are likely to create, strengthen, or affirm important legal precedents in areas from healthcare and employment to education, jail policies, and public accommodations.
