A TEDx speaker and writer, Bandana Tewari has given key-note speeches all across the world about compassionate consumption, sustainability, with a special focus on Gandhi & Fashion and the need for sartorial integrity amongst others.

As Vogue India’s Editor-at-Large for 13 years, Bandana was responsible for planning, visualizing and ideating fashion features for the ultimate style bible. Her ringside view of the rapidly evolving industry coupled with her signature ability to take the long view in every commentary has made her a globally recognized voice in fashion lifestyle and sustainability.

Today, Bandana lives in Bali and contributes to several global magazines. She has written extensively for The Business of Fashion and other well regarded publications such as  The New York Times, Vogue Arabia, Vogue India, Harper’s Bazaar India, Elle India, Vogue Portugal, Vogue US, Vogue UK, Wallpaper, Platform and Tank, in addition to several leading Indian newspapers such as, Hindustan Times and The Hindu.

She has scripted and hosted 50 episodes of Simply Style, the first fashion series on Indian television, as well as the first series of fashion webisodes online on LFWTV.com. She was also part of the powerful documentary titled Slay that focuses on animal cruelty in fashion.

She is a Special Advisor to Copenhagen Fashion Summit and sits on several advisory boards—NEST (NYC), Redress (Hong Kong), Global Fashion Agenda (Stockholm), Fashinnovation (New York), Member of the British Fashion Council Community amongst others.

For her charity Bandana chose Jan Sahas because she believes it reaches those corners of rural India that have been deemed invisible and excluded from the mainstream. The Kali Eyes are, she hopes, the watchful eyes of the fierce mother who nurtures those in times of need.
